Sad Day For Audrey
I've been a little quiet this week as my sister Audrey went to the big green coop in the sky last weekend. I'm not sure what happened, but I made so much noise about it that my mom made a quick trip to the feed store to find me a new sister. She's much smaller and is always trying to get underneath me. Sometimes I have to perch on the water container to just get away from her. She's a Silver Spangled Hamburg and even though she's small, she steals all my food and kind of took over the place as soon as she recovered from her days at the feed store. I have almost all real feathers now and am close to being ready to join my two game hen sisters in the outdoor coop. See what I mean?

Our First Worms
Well, the lady with the red hair has turned out to be our friend. She keeps the cats off the top of the cage and a couple of times a day she brings something new for us to play with our eat. Yesterday she brought in some wiggly things she called worms. See for yourself how we liked them. It takes us a little while to start, but it's worth the wait.
Cats in the Coop?

As the sun shined in the bedroom window and cast its soft rays across our cage, I was grateful that we were rescued from the bin of chickens at Coastal Farms. My pleasure was interrupted when I glanced up to see a large, striped cat laying casually across the top of our cage, peering in. Startled, I turned to Audrey to see if she noticed and there was another one behind her, looking in from the side. This is the strangest chicken coop. The floor is carpeted and a several times a day a lady with red hair comes in and takes away the paper beneath our feet and leaves something else interesting to peck at. We think she's okay, but we're not sure about the cat on top of the cage.

First Night at Home
Thank god they rescued us from Coastal Farm and Garden. Living in a stock tank with a 100 other chickens was a pretty stressful place to be. One of our friends was dead and everyone was walking over the top of her. No manners in that place I tell ya. Well, we're happy to be here in the exlusive chicken condo filled with warm light, clean water and fresh food. We look forward to growing up and meeting our older sisters, Elsie and Gertie, but we're not old enough yet.
I'm a buff orpington, aren't I a beautiful strawberry red? My sister, Audrey, is a barred rock. She says she'll be prettier and they'll eat me first. What do you think?
Mom says she'll only eat our eggs, but Audrey saw a big pot and some oil in the kitchen.
